A Jefferson County man is suing health care centers and a doctor, alleging medical negligence.
Harold Idlebird filed a lawsuit Oct. 8 in Jefferson County District Court against Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Previty Surgical and Dr. Christopher Timmons.
According to the complaint, on July 29, 2013, Idlebird was admitted to Baptist Hospitals in Beaumont where Timmons performed an exploratory procedure. Even though the plaintiff was put on a diet of clear liquids Aug. 4, the suit says a day later a nurse practitioner, employed by defendant Previty Surgical, recommended a regular diet of solid food.
Consequently, the suit says, on Aug. 8, Idlebird underwent another surgical procedure, the first of many, and has continued to suffer medical complications. The plaintiff alleges physical pain and mental anguish, medical expenses, plus physical incapacity and impairment.
Idlebird seeks a trial by jury as well as attorney fees and costs of court. He is represented by attorney Craig Lewis of The Lewis Law Firm in Houston.
