A Utah resident is suing a Hardin County motorist, alleging negligence for injuries sustained in a vehicle collision.

Kurt Lungreen filed a lawsuit Nov. 11 in Jefferson County District Court against Ryan Patrick Thomas, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on June 21, 2014, Lungreen was driving northbound on West Lucas Drive, and Thomas was driving westbound on Delaware Street in Jefferson County, when Thomas disregarded the red traffic signal and struck Lungreen's vehicle.

The suit alleges Thomas was negligent in failing to keep a proper lookout, failing to stop at a traffic signal, speeding and failing to apply brakes in a timely manner. As a result, the suit says, the plaintiff sustained bodily injuries, pain and suffering, impairment, mental anguish, property damages, loss of earnings and medical expenses.

Lungreen seeks damages, interests and court costs. He is represented by attorneys J. Trenton Bond and Chris M. Portner of Portner Bond in Beaumont.

Jefferson County District Court case number D-197792.
