HOUSTON – A woman representing a minor child is suing Comcast, alleging a van owned by the defendant ran a red light and caused a crash that injured her child.

Yvonne Wiley, on behalf of Rhionna Taylor, filed a lawsuit on Dec. 14 against Comcast Corporation, doing business as Comcast Broadband Security and also as Xfinity, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on March 15, Rhionna Taylor was a passenger in a 2012 Sonic traveling westbound on Cypress Landing Drive, toward the intersection of Kuykendahl Road in Harris County. The suit says a 2004 Ford van owned by Comcast Corporation and driven by Julian D. Toussaint was speeding northbound and suddenly ran a red light to strike Wiley's Sonic.

The plaintiff says Taylor suffered a broken pelvis along with several other severe injuries. Wiley alleges past, present and future mental pain, suffering and anguish, physical pain and suffering and loss of function, plus medical expenses, lost wages and lost enjoyment of life.

Taylor seeks unspecified damages and court costs. She is represented by attorney Dennis Spurling of Houston.
