LA MARQUE – A Sam's Club customer is suing the store's parent company over injuries allegedly suffered when an employee struck him with a shopping cart.

David Ballew filed a lawsuit on Dec. 18 against Wal-Mart Stores Texas LLC in the Galveston County District Court alleging malicious and grossly negligent conduct by a Sam’s Club employee.

While a customer at a Sam’s Club in La Marque on April 15, 2014,  Ballew allegedly was struck by a cart that was being pushed by a Sam’s Club employee. He alleged in his suit that the impact caused severe and extensive injuries.

Ballew, who is seeking monetary relief of more than $200,000, but not more than $1 million, is being represented by attorneys Alton C. Todd and Jeffrey N. Todd of Friendswood.
