Woman sues trucker, employer over alleged injuries suffered in crash

MARSHALL – A Tennessee woman is suing the driver of a tractor-trailer and the company that employs him following a two-vehicle crash on a highway in Anderson County.

Gayla Jo Williams filed a lawsuit Dec. 21 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Alejandro Prevost Velazquez and Lauros Service Corp., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on or about Nov. 10, 2015, Williams was a motorist involved in a vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 79 in Anderson County with a tractor-trailer driven by Velazquez and owned by the Lauros Service Corp. Williams suffered substantial bodily injury, according to the lawsuit, and lost wages.

Williams is seeking reasonable medical care and expenses, lost wages as well as prejudgment interest at maximum rate allowed by law and post-judgement interest at the legal rate. Williams is represented by attorney David E. Dobbs of Dobbs & Tittle PC in Tyler.
