Salesman alleges National Oilwell Varco owes unpaid overtime wages

HOUSTON – A former salesman at an oil well company is suing his ex-employer for allegedly unpaid overtime wages.

Nathaniel Stone filed a class-action lawsuit Dec. 22 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against National Oilwell Varco LP alleging a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According the lawsuit, Stone worked as an inside sales representative, working more than 40 hours a week, and claims that he did not get paid one-and-one-half times this regularly hourly rate for every hour he worked in excess of 40 in the workweek.

Stone is seeking actual and liquidated damages, costs of suit, reasonable attorney’s fee as well as pre- and post-judgment interest as provided by law. He is represented by G. Scott Fiddler of Fiddler & Associates PC of Houston.
