Employee blames Sparkletts for fall, injuries

GALVESTON — An employee is suing a Texas City water distribution company, alleging negligence for a workplace injury.

Millicent Jones filed a lawsuit Feb. 19 in Galveston County District Court against DS Waters Of America Inc., doing business as a Sparkletts, alleging negligence for  alleging that the business operating in Texas allowed dangerous and unsafe condition to the workplace of Jones.

According to the complaint, on July 23, at the Sparkletts place of business in Texas City, the replacement of the water jug caused water to spill on the floor, causing Jones to slip and sustain permanent and serious injuries. The suit says Sparkletts was responsible because it allowed an unsafe work environment.

Jones seeks compensation for all damages, amount of past and future income and all recoverable costs and fees, plus a jury trial. She is represented by attorney Michael G. Martinez of Friendswood.
