HOUSTON — A Houston specialty retail chain is suing Hanover Insurance Company, alleging breach of contract.

Spec's Family Partners Ltd. filed a lawsuit Feb. 19, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against The Hanover Insurance Company, alleging failure to provide coverage.

According to the complaint, between October 2012 and February 2014, Spec's experienced a data breach with another company and had claimed its insurance policy to defend them. However, the suit says, Hanover refused to provide claims to which Spec’s was entitled.

Spec's seeks compensation for the claim amount, all damages and legal fees, plus a jury trial. It is represented by attorney Micah E. Skidmore of Haynes and Boone LLP in Dallas.
