HOUSTON – A Harris County oilfield worker is suing a Houston drilling company, alleging failure to pay for overtime hours.
Ranson R. Fullinwider filed a lawsuit Jan. 20 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Lloyd’s Register Drilling Integrity Services Inc., alleging violation of the Fair Labors Standards Act.
According to the complaint, Fullinwider worked for Lloyd’s Register Drilling Integrity Services for three years as a ``subsea engineer’’ and regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per week. However, the suit says, he did not receive overtime pay for time worked in excess of 40 hours at a rate of time and half, as required by the Fair Labors Standards Act.
Fullinwider alleges the defendant did not pay its systems engineers or systems and control surveyors any overtime wages, as required by the FLSA.
Fullinwider seeks damages for the amount of unpaid overtime compensation, an injunction restraining Lloyd’s Register Drilling from destroying any records and a jury trial. He is represented by attorney Lu Ann Trevino of The Trevino Law Firm in Houston.
