Son accuses Lake Arthur Place of negligent care for elderly patient

BEAUMONT – A family member is suing a Port Arthur health care facility, alleging inadequate physical therapy for a 96-year-old woman.

 

David Bishop, the son as a next friend of Esteree R. Bishop, filed a lawsuit Feb. 4 in Jefferson County District Court against PM Management–Golden Triangle NC IV LLC, doing business as Lake Arthur Place, alleging gross negligence.

On Oct. 18, according to the lawsuit, Esteree Bishop, 96. fell on her right side in the bathroom at Lake Arthur Place, suffering a right hip fracture and femoral neck fracture. The lawsuit alleges Lake Arthur Place’s substandard, inadequate and negligent care led to Bishop’s injuries.

David Bishop seeks a judgment within the jurisdictional limits of the court, for both pre-judgment and post-judgment interest plus costs of court and a jury trial. He is represented by attorneys Beth S. Janicek and Andrew J. Skemp of the Janicek Law Firm, PC in San Antonio.
