BEAUMONT – A Beaumont woman is suing a realty company, alleging negligence over a slip and fall at the defendant's office.

Patricia Nolen of Beaumont filed a lawsuit Feb. 5 in Jefferson County District Court against Weingarten Realty, Weingarten Realty Investors, Weingarten Realty Management Company, Eastex Venture and Target Corporation, alleging negligence and carelessness.

On March 5, 2014, the complaint states, Nolen was on the premises of North Park Plaza in Beaumont, a property owned, managed and/or controlled by one of the defendants, when she was severely injured after she slipped and fell due to a broken concrete sidewalk.

The suit says Nolen suffered severe and debilitating pain in her knees and right wrist, which was fractured in her fall. She also suffered bruising and soreness to the body in general, the lawsuit states.

Nolen seeks monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000, plus costs of suit. She is represented by attorneys Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg of Beaumont.
