Mother, child blame McDonalds for injuries at restaurant

Mcdonalds

BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County woman and her child are suing McDonalds, alleging injuries suffered at the defendant's College Station restaurant.

Shannon McCain of Buna, individually and on behalf of minor N. McCain, filed a lawsuit Feb. 19 in Jefferson County District Court against R.E.E. Inc. doing business as McDonalds, alleging negligence and carelessness.

According to the complaint, on March 15, 2014, the McClains were customers at a McDonalds in the 1900 block of Frontage Road near College Station when N. McClain, slipped and fell due to water on the floor. The suit says there were no ``wet floor’’ signs to warn customers – even though employees were aware of the dangerous condition.

The suit states the child suffered severe pain in her right knee, right arm and right elbow, with soreness to her body in general.

The McClains seek between $200,000 and $1 million, plus court costs. They are represented by attorneys Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg of Beaumont.
