HOUSTON — A Seattle motorman is suing Noble Drilling Services, alleging racial discrimination.
Ivan Leslie filed a lawsuit March 8, in Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas, against Noble Corporation and Noble Drilling Services Inc. of Sugar Land, alleging they willfully disregarded the federally protected rights of black employees.
According to the complaint, Leslie, an African-American male, who has worked for Noble since 2013, has suffered and continues to suffer harassment, humiliation, intimidation, embarrassment, mental anguish and emotional distress due to his race.
The plaintiff alleges Noble failed to take reasonable steps to eliminate racial harassment, failed to properly train white employees to prohibit discriminatory practices and failed to institute race sensitivity training for their employees.
Leslie seeks a jury trial, punitive damages, attorney and expert fees, legal costs and other legal and equitable relief as the court finds appropriate. He is represented by attorney Chukwudi Egbuonu of the Law Office of Chukwudi Egbuonu in Houston.
