GALVESTON COUNTY — A Galveston County man is suing Oiltanking North America LLC over alleged unpaid wages.

Rogers Porterie filed a complaint on March 16 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Oiltanking North America LLC, alleging that the employer failed to compensate their employees by paying adequate wages equal to their total hours worked.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per week but did not receive any pay for those extra hours worked. The plaintiff holds Oiltanking North America LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay the plaintiff the rate in accordance to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The plaintiff seeks compensation for all damages, unpaid wages plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just and proper. He is represented by Joe Jones of Sloan, Bagley, Hatcher & Perry Law Firm in Houston.
