Motorist blames truck operator for crash that led to injuries

MARSHALL — A Hopkins County woman is suing a Mississippi trucker and a Tennessee truck business, alleging negligence caused her injuries in a vehicle accident.

Laron Ross of Hopkins County filed a lawsuit March 18 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Otis Charles Hill of Olive Branch, Mississippi, and Professional Truck Transportation LLC of Memphis, alleging negligence resulting in injury.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 7, Ross was driving east on Interstate Highway 30 when an 18-wheeler driven by Hill crashed into the back of his vehicle, causing the plaintiff to suffer injury, harm and losses. 

The plaintiff alleges Hill neglected his duties when operating his vehicle that resulted in causing harm to plaintiff despite adequate warning signs equipped on Ross' vehicle.

Ross seeks a jury trial, compensation for all damages plus interest, all legal fees and any relief as the court deems proper. He is represented by attorneys Craig D. Zips and Tab E. Lawhorn of Derryberry Zips Wade Lawhorn PLLC in Tyler
