State Farm alleges driver's negligence caused injury

Car wreck

BEAUMONT — State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, as subrogee of Ryan Olson, is suing a Vidor motorist, alleging negligence resulting in injury.

The insurance company filed a lawsuit complaint March 10 in Jefferson County District Court against Joseph Bandeaux alleging he wrongfully neglected his duty while operating a vehicle which caused damage to others.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 17, Olson was involved in a car accident in Beaumont, causing damage to his vehicle. The suit says the defendant failed to control the speed of his vehicle, causing his vehicle to hit plaintiff's car and causing damage to property.

State Farm and Olson seek damages of $12,836.86, plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems proper. They are represented by attorney Anthony R. LaScalea of Carpenter & Schumacher PC in Plano.
