GALVESTON – A Louisiana rigger alleges he was injured while working on an oil platform.

Lorenza Jackson filed a complaint on March 24 in Galveston County District Court against Chevron USA Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 27, 2015, he was working on the defendant's platform in the Gulf of Mexico as an employee of Danos & Curole. He alleges he sustained body injuries while performing his duties when he caught his foot in equipment on the platform, causing him to fall. The plaintiff holds Chevron USA Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly maintain its equipment free of hazards for workers to use.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for trial by jury, all damages plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just and proper. He is represented by Marcus R. Spagnoletti of Spagnoletti & Co. in Houston.
