Law money 09

HOUSTON – A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against an oil employer alleging unpaid wages.

Vannala Siratsamy filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on April 1 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Veolia Water North America Operating Services LLC citing violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between Oct. 20, 1986 and March 31, he worked for at least 12 hours per day and therefore more than 40 hours per week but was not paid any overtime pay during his employment. The plaintiff holds Veolia Water North America Operating Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly had knowledge and even approved of the total hours plaintiff worked but failed to pay plaintiff for all his hours worked.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime wages at the applicable rate, equal amount to the overtime wage as liquidated damages, prejudgment interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Josef F. Buenker and Vijay A. Pattisapu of Buenker Law in Houston.
