TYLER – A former electrician filed a class-action lawsuit against a Houston company over allegations it did not pay employees overtime.
Gary Jones filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on April 14 in the Tyler Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Scandrill Inc. alleging that the employer failed to pay overtime wages its employees.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per work but did not receive overtime pay. The plaintiff holds Scandrill Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime wages to their employees at the rate of one-and-one-half times their regular rate and failed to maintain records of hours worked.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all unpaid wages, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by William S. Hommel Jr. of Hommel Law Firm in Tyler.
