The plaintiff RBDS is based in Plano.
It has pursued legal action in an attempt to stop what it perceives to be infringement of United States Patent Number 8,856,221.
“The plaintiff is the owner by assignment of the ‘221 Patent with sole rights to enforce he ‘221 Patent and sue infringers,” court papers say.
They add that the patent in question, titled “System and Method for Storing Broadcast Content in a Cloud-based Computing Environment,” is valid, enforceable, and was duly issued in full compliance with Title 35 of the United States Code.
Consequently, RBDS seeks unspecified monetary damages.
Attorneys Jay Johnson, D. Bradley Kizzia and Anthony Ricciardelli of the law firm Kizzia Johnson, PLLC in Dallas are representing the company.
