AUSTIN—Five divorce attorneys from the family law offices of GoransonBain have been included on the 2016 Rising Stars list compiled by Super Lawyers.

Attorneys named on the highly regarded Rising Stars list, which is limited to the top 2.5 percent of lawyers in Texas, are either 40 years old or younger, or have been in practice for 10 years or fewer. The competitive selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and evaluations.

“Our commitment to doing what is in our client’s best interest is at the core of who we are and what we do,” GoransonBain Managing Partner Beth Maultsby said. “It drives our culture and this recognition affirms our reputation among our peers.”

The five GoransonBain attorneys to make the 2016 list include:

P. Lindley Bain

For the seventh year P. Lindley Bain, a partner who heads up the GoransonBain office in Austin, was named a Rising Star. Bain specializes in financially complex divorces, thanks to her M.B.A. in finance from Southern Methodist University, as well as high-conflict custody matters.

“I recognize the importance of managing the financial and emotional costs of contested family matters,” Bain said in her bio on the firm’s site. “I work hard to achieve the best possible outcomes for my clients, while minimizing the toll it takes on their day to day lives.”

Angel Berbarie

Austin-based attorney Angel Berbarie has been named a Rising Star for the fifth year. Berbarie specializes in cases with large assets, as the attorney notes she is “especially attuned to solving the financial needs of her clients, whether it is the spouse who must move forward without a breadwinner or the spouse who wants to make sure he or she is keeping a fair share of the estate they worked so hard to create.”

In her bio, Berbarie said she works to secure the best, least destructive outcome for her clients, “whether that is through problem-solving negotiation or aggressive representation in court,” by helping simplify matters for clients and explain how various options could affect them and their family.

“I don’t just look at the legal aspects of the case, I consider the human element as well, and work to protect my clients’ well-being and the well-being of their families,” she said.

Hayley Collins

A resolution is usually in the best interest of clients, which is why Plano-based attorney Hayley Collins said she works with opposing counsel to try and reach a favorable agreement outside of court for her clients. If an agreement is not possible, Collins has no issue advocating aggressively on behalf of her client in court.

“Every family law case is different,” Collins said in her bio. “I value the opportunity to help my clients find unique solutions considering their specific circumstances.” It’s this strategy that led to Collins’ inclusion on the Rising Stars list for the second time.

Lené Alley DeRudder

“The goal of my practice is to help people in difficult and emotional family situations successfully navigate a resolution to achieve a favorable result,” Plano-based attorney Lené Alley DeRudder said in her bio.

DeRudder has been named a Rising Star for three years now. She said her goal is to minimize the emotional, mental and financial costs of family law problems for her clients. DeRudder is passionate about protecting children and works to ensure children’s voices are heard and that parents focus on their children’s long-term well-being.

Kathryn Samler

With her experience as an attorney/guardian ad litem and amicus attorney, Katie Samler brings a unique experience for her clients going through a divorce. Samler understands the emotional and financial tool litigation has on families and collaborates with opposing parties to reach resolution without unnecessary litigation.

“With every divorce, my goal is to help clients efficiently attain a resolution that gives them peace of mind, both in the short term and the long term,” the Dallas-based attorney said in her bio.

Samler, who has been named a Rising Star for three years, is particularly interested in children’s causes and currently serves as a board member for ArtReach, Dallas, and is also a board member and grant writer for Legacy Family Court Foundation.
