Texas man accuses Denton County deputies of violating his civil rights

SHERMAN — A Texas man is suing Denton County deputies, alleging they violated his civil rights during an arrest. 

Stephen L. Harz filed a lawsuit April 15, in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Denton County Sheriff's deputies David E. Linnel, S. Hicks, Charles H. Craft, Jesse D. Wyman, and John Doe, alleging excessive force when questioning plaintiff.

According to the complaint, on April 16, 2014, Harz suffered injuries when he was pulled from his car seat while being arrested. The plaintiff alleges the defendants used excessive force which caused him injuries.

The suit says the deputies arrested the plaintiff despite having no legal cause.

Harz seeks a trial by jury, general damages, special damages, punitive and exemplary damages in a sum to be ascertained, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney David D. Davis of Law Offices of David D. Davis, PLLC in Grand Prairie.
