GALVESTON – A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against a Texas City corporation alleging it owes him and class members unpaid overtime ages.
Sam Ortega filed a complaint on behalf of others similarly situated on April 21 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Plant Engineering Services LLC citing violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per work week but was not paid any overtime wage and given any fair compensation. The plaintiff holds Plant Engineering Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime wages to their employees despite having knowledge of the total hours they worked through timesheets.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages equal to the unpaid wages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Richard J. (Rex) Burch of Bruckner Burch PLLC in Houston.
