Slip01

GALVESTON — A Galveston County woman is suing Kemah property owners, alleging their negligence caused her to be injured in a fall.

Stacey Marino filed a lawsuit April 25, in Galveston County District Court against Harold Dean Cubley and Pegasus Properties Management Inc., doing business as a The Point at Egret Bay, alleging negligence in failing to make sure their property is free from any hazards.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 19, 2014, Marino was walking toward her apartment at The Point at Egret Bay in Kemah, when she suffered injuries after falling due to a slippery substance on the floor.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to make sure that the drainage systems were functioning in order for water to not build up on the walkway.

The suit says the plaintiff sustained pain, mental anguish and medical costs

Marino seeks all damages allowed by the law, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Stewart J. Guss and Jason J. Ruen of Houston.
