Family alleges auto repair business caused vehicle crash

Car accident 19

BEAUMONT — A Nederland family is suing a Port Arthur automotive business, alleging an employee of the defendant caused a vehicle crash.

David, Charlotte and Drina Lisenby filed a lawsuit April 4 in Jefferson County District Court against Jerry's Automotive & Front End Service and Jerry Bellot, alleging negligence in that Bellot failed to properly control his vehicle causing injuries and damage.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 3, Bellot, operating a vehicle while employed by Jerry's Automotive, ran a stop sign and collided with a car carrying David and Charlotte Lisenby on Memorial Boulevard in Port Arthur. The suit says the couple sustained personal injuries.

The plaintiffs allege Bellot failed to exercise caution when operating his vehicle, resulting in physical injuries to the plaintiffs, plus mental anguish and medical expenses.

The Lisenbys seek all damages, plus pre-judgment interest at the legal rate, legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorney Rocky Lawdermilk of Beaumont.
