Employee accuses Beaumont fire chief of harassment

Wrongful term 07

BEAUMONT — An employee is suing the city of Beaumont and its fire chief, alleging a hostile work environment led to her firing.

Ashley Scott filed a lawsuit May 3 in Jefferson County District Court against the city of Beaumont and fire chief Anne Huff, alleging retaliation, sexual abuse and sexual harassment.

According to the complaint, between July 29, 2013, and May 19, 2015, Scott suffered emotional stress as a result of being forced into a sexual relationship by Hunt, a lesbian. The plaintiff alleges the defendants terminated her employment in retaliation for acting against Hunt.

Scott seeks a trial by jury and damages between $200,000 and $1 million, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Larry Watts of Watts & Company Lawyers LTD in Missouri City.
