Texas woman accuses jeans business of failing to pay overtime

Late 07

HOUSTON — A Texas woman is suing a clothing business, alleging it failed to pay employees overtime.

Ana Saucedo filed a lawsuit May 10 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Stone Jeans Corp. and Sandra Woodbury, alleging violating the Fair Labor Standards Act in failing to fairly compensate employees.

According to the complaint, between November 2013 and June 2015, Saucedo worked more than 40 hours per week and often as many as 60 hours or more, but was not paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to pay their employees any overtime pay for all work of more than 40 hours per week.

The suit says the defendants knew of the plaintiff's extra hours and benefited from her extra work.

Saucedo seeks a trial by jury, unpaid minimum and overtime wages, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Josef F. Buenker and Vijay A. Pattisapu in Houston.
