BEAUMONT – A Beaumont business alleges two Jasper business breached a contract between the parties.
PetroTex Fuels Inc. filed a complaint on May 2 in the Jefferson County District Court against Latch Oil Inc., Latch Ventures Inc. and Smitty's Supply Inc. alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Sept. 5, 2012 and March 2014, it suffered damages to its business as a result of their contractual agreement breached. The plaintiff holds Latch Oil Inc., Latch Ventures Inc. and Smitty's Supply Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their agreement with plaintiff when they sold their stock ownership to defendant Smitty's and began debranding their stores, despite the contract still being in full effect.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, declaratory judgment, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Greg M. Dykeman and Stacie Augustine of Strong Pipkin Bissell & Ledyard LLP in Beaumont.
