Employee alleges spa failed to pay overtime

HOUSTON — A Texas woman is suing a Woodlands spa, alleging failure to pay overtime. 

Bridget Stacks, individually and on behalf of all other similarly situated individuals, filed a class action lawsuit April 29 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Viva Life LLC, doing business as Sona MedSpa LLC, alleging, violations of the Fair Labor Standards act in failing to fairly compensate employees.

According to the complaint, between 2008 and July 2014, Stacks worked more than 40 hours per week at the defendant's Woodlands facility but was not paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff alleges Sona MedSpa failed to pay overtime wages to any of their employees who worked more than 40 hours per week.

Stacks seeks unpaid wages owed, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Paul J. Lukas and Brittany B. Skemp of Nichols Kaster PLLP in Minneapolis.
