HOUSTON – A field service tech alleges his former employer misclassifed him and others in the position as exempt from overtime.
Kurt Crowder filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on May 13 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Weatherford International LLC alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2010 and 2015, he worked for more than 40 hours per workweek but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Weatherford International LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime compensation for hours worked more than 40 hours per work week by their employees.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages equal to the unpaid overtime, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Galvin B. Kennedy of Kennedy Hodges LLP in Houston.
