GALVESTON — A Bee County correctional officer is suing Galveston County, alleging negligence in a vehicle crash that injured the plaintiff.

Alicia Holt filed a lawsuit June 2 in Galveston County District Court against Galveston County, alleging the municipality failed to properly train its employees about operating a vehicle.

According to the complaint, on May 14, 2015, Holt sustained physical injuries as a result of the ambulance she was a passenger in was hit by another car driven by an employee of Galveston County. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant's employee failed to properly control his vehicle and that he had been drinking less than six hours before the crash.

Holt seeks a trial by jury, judgment in an amount within the jurisdictional limits of this court plus interest, medical expenses, legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Thomas J. Henry and Eric Gruetzner of Law Offices of Thomas J. Henry in Corpus Christi.
