Late 07

HOUSTON — A Texas woman is suing a Houston company, alleging unpaid wages and violation of workers compensation acts.

Sherry Shelby filed a lawsuit, individually and  on behalf of all others similarly situated June 1 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Boxer Property Management Corporation, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act in that the employer failed for fairly compensate employees.

According to the complaint, between November 2015 and February 2016, Shelby worked more than 40 hours per week as an onsite leasing agent but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff alleges Boxer Property mis-classified their employees in order to avoid paying any overtime wages.

Shelby seeks a trial by jury, all unpaid overtime compensation, unpaid wages, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Rhonda H. Wills and Genevieve B. Estrada of Wills Law Firm in Houston.
