Employee accuses transport business of failing to pay overtime

Late 05

HOUSTON — A Texas woman is suing a Baton Rouge company, alleging failure to pay overtime.

Mindy Dodd filed a lawsuit May 27 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against L&B Transport LLC and Philip L. Drum, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act in failing fairly compensate an employee.

According to the complaint, between May 24, 2014, and May 17, 2016, Dodd worked more than eight hours per day, even though her meal breaks, but was reprimanded for submitting accurate time records. The plaintiff alleges the defendants falsified the plaintiff's time sheet in order to avoid paying her overtime wages.

Dodd seeks a trial by jury, unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages equal to the unpaid overtime wages, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Andrew S. Golub of Dow Golub Remels & Beverly LLP in Houston.
