HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a Houston company, alleging failure to pay more than 400 hours of overtime wages.
Amanda Flynn filed a lawsuit May 27 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Service Corporation International alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act in failing to fairly compensate an employee.
According to the complaint, between March 2014 and May 2015, Flynn performed work off the clock as an administrative assistant, often having to work through her meal breaks, but she was not paid any overtime wages. The suit says Flynn conservatively estimates SCI owes her for 411 overtime hours.
The plaintiff alleges the defendant has failed to pay her for off the clock work.
Flynn seeks a trial by jury, all unpaid hours, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorneys Daryl J. Sinkule and Todd Slobin of Shellist Lazarz Slobin LLP in Houston.
