HOUSTON – A motor coach operator alleges a Houston company and its owner and director did not pay her for all her hours worked and has filed a class-action suit.
Quintina Griffin filed a complaint on behalf of all other persons similarly situated on June 10 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Sam's Limousine and Transportation Inc., Karen Zuri and Omar Ghandour alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and state labor codes.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between July 2014 and May, she worked as a chauffeur without being paid for all her hours worked. The suit states that in instances where she was only paid a flat rate, she received less than minimum wage. The plaintiff holds Sam's Limousine and Transportation Inc., Zuri and Ghandour responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay plaintiff for all hours worked and made illegal deductions to her pay.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back wages, liquidated and punitive damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Robert Collier of Collier Hudson PLLC in Houston.
