Guest alleges beach house rental owner's negligence caused injuries

GALVESTON — A Houston woman is suing a Galveston beach house rental facility, alleging its negligence led to her sustaining injuries.

Patricia Stigler filed a lawsuit June 29 in Galveston County District Court against Sand N' Sea Properties LLC, alleging breach of duty and failure to warn in that the beach house was not maintained in a safe and reasonable condition.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 23, 2014, Stigler she was a guest at the defendant's vacation home in Galveston. While taking a shower, the suit says, she slipped and fell, causing her injuries, pain and suffering, mental anguish and emotional distress, physical impairment, and medical related expenses. 

The plaintiff alleges Sand N' Sea failed to provide a slip resistant bathing facilities and failed to warn the her of the dangerous and unsafe condition.

Stigler seeks a trial by jury, relief of between $200,000 and $1 million, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest, legal costs and such other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by attorney Joshua Estes of The Estes Law Firm PC in Richmond.
