BEAUMONT — A Jefferson County family is suing a Texas health care provider, alleging failure to provide proper medical care.

Guy Romine, on behalf of wrongful death beneficiaries Christa Gray, Jared Romine, Nathan Romine, and Jessica Romine and as next friend of Tricia Romine, a minor child filed a lawsuit June 24 in Jefferson County District Court against Permian Premier Health Services, Inc., doing business as Southeast Texas Physicians Group alleging wrongful death.

According to the complaint, between July 14-20, 2015, a relative with the last name Romine voluntarily presented herself to the defendant's hospital because she felt suicidal. Shortly after she was released by defendant against her will, she committed suicide, the suit says.

As a result, the lawsuit states, the adult plaintiffs and minor child sustained damages, including but not limited to future physical pain and mental anguish.

The plaintiffs seeks a trial by jury, judgment against the defendant and all other relief to which they are justly entitled. They are represented by attorney Collin Cobb of The Monk Law Firm in Beaumont.
