Two oilfied workers allege former employers failed to pay overtime

Oildrill 05

TYLER — Two Texas men are suing an oilfield services company, alleging failure to pay overtime.

James Hanhart of Kilgore and Lester Alford of Flint filed a lawsuit July 22 in the Tyler Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Thunderhorse Oilfield Services LLC and Ronnie Ashley, alleging violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, between March 18, 2014, and April 12, 2015, Hanhart and Alford worked more than 40 hours per week without receiving proper overtime compensation.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants permitted both men to work more than 40 hours per week but refused to compensate them properly at the rate of one and one-half times their regular rate for all hours worked more than 40 hours, violating the FLSA.

Hanhart and Alford seek a trial by jury, all unpaid overtime wages plus an equal amount as liquidated damages, attorney fees, legal costs, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest and such other relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by attorneys James M. Loren, George Z. Goldberg and Rachael Rustmann of Goldberg & Loren PA in Dallas.
