A lawsuit alleging that a security guard was fired for complaining about being referred to as “Magic Mike” came to an end, per Beaumont federal court records.

Beaumont resident Michael R. McKnight sued Gulf Coast Health Center, Inc. last March on allegations the termination was retaliatory, claiming that he endured sexual harassment for nearly a year.

GCHC, in turn, submitted an original answer two months later.

Both parties filed a joint motion for dismissal with prejudice to refiling on Aug. 1. The two-page document says that they “have resolved by agreement all claims that were or could have been raised against the other in this suit.”

United States District Court Judge Ron Clark granted the motion on Aug. 3.

Attorney David R. Schleicher of the law firm Schleicher Law Firm, PLLC in Waco represented McKnight while GCHC’s legal counsel was attorney Jana Hale Woelfel of the law firm Strasburger & Price, LLP in Houston.
