Mizuno USA filed suit against Games People Play Inc. on Oct. 5 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to the lawsuit, on March 14, 2014 the parties entered into an agreement whereby Mizuno would provide athletic equipment to GPP on credit.
Mizuno sent a letter demanding payment last August but GPP allegedly refused to pay.
Court records show that on June 29 Mizuno filed a motion for summary judgment, arguing the evidence shows GPP has defaulted under the agreement, which is an enforceable contract.
Mizuno is seeking damages in the amount of $49,377.80, plus attorney’s fees in the amount of $7,500.
Adam Pugh, attorney for the Austin law firm Slater Pugh, represents Mizuno.
Judge Milton Shuffield, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
