GALVESTON — Two Galveston County parents are suing a League City dentist, alleging malpractice in the treatment of their son.
Lisa Deel and Mark Deel, individually and as next friends of a minor, filed a lawsuit Aug. 2, in Galveston County District Court against Amanda Hoover alleging violation of the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that as a result of Hoover's unnecessary dental treatment of their teenage son in 2015, they have expended large amount of money and their son needs invasive, painful and a more expensive dental treatment and will have to deal with a lifetime of dental problems..
The plaintiffs allege Hoover breached her duty to act as a reasonable dentist would have under similar circumstances. They also say a member of Hoover's staff offered Mark Deel margarita drinks as his son was being treated.
The Deels seek a trial by jury, all actual damages, pre- and post judgment interest, costs of suit and all relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by attorney James R. Moriarty of Houston.
