Contractor blames electrical, consulting companies for injuries

HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing electrical and consulting companies, alleging their negligence led to injuries to the plaintiff. 

Egipto Noel Mendoza filed a lawsuit Aug. 3 in Harris County District Court against C&P Electrical Systems LLC and American Trades Contracting & Consulting LLC, alleging negligence in failing to provide a safe place to work.

According to the complaint, on June 14, 2014, Mendoza was performing electrical works for the defendants near Interstate Highway 10 and Highway 6 . The suit says he was injured when a C&P employee hit him with the back end of the backhoe loader. The incident caused Mendoza to to sustain medical care and expenses, pain and suffering, loss of earning capacity, mental anguish and disfigurement, the lawsuit states. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants negligently hired an heavy equipment operator and failed to properly train and supervise the operator.

Mendoza seeks a trial by jury, monetary relief up to $1 million, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees and legal costs, plus all relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by attorney Roy J. Elizondo of The Elizondo Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
