Slip01

BEAUMONT — A Beaumont woman is suing a Holiday Inn facility, alleging its negligence caused her to fall in the hotel parking lot.

Nancy Templain filed a lawsuit Aug. 11 in Jefferson County District Court against Palace Park Central Hotels LLC, doing business as Holiday Inn Beaumont Plaza doing business as The Palace at Park Central LLC, alleging failure to properly inspect and maintain its parking area.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 28, 2014, Templain was at The Palace at Park Central in Beaumont when she slipped and fell due to a dangerous and uneven condition in the parking lot. The suit says Templain sustained injuries that resulted in medical expenses, loss of earnings, physical pain, mental anguish and disfigurement.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants negligently permitted the parking lot to remain uneven, failed to repair the parking lot and failed to warn Templain of the dangerous condition.

Templain seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, courts costs and all other relief. She is represented by attorney Edward D. Fisher of Provost Umphrey Law Firm LLP in Beaumont.
