Employee accuses Hyundai dealer of not paying overtime

Late 04

BEAUMONT — A Texas man is suing a Silsbee Hyundai dealership, alleging failure to pay overtime.

Thomas A. Daniels filed a lawsuit Aug. 19 in the Beaumont Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Ted Automotive Group LLC, doing business as Hyundai of Silsbee alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Daniels has been employed by Hyundai of Silsbee from November 2015 to the present but has not not been paid an overtime premium for time worked more than 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant willfully failed to pay him for time spent in employment, failed to keep adequate time records and wrongfully withheld or deducted wages.

Daniels seeks trial by jury, compensation for all damages, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all other relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by attorney John Werner of Reaud, Morgan & Quinn LLP in Beaumont.
