MARSHALL — A Texas woman is suing an Louisiana towing trailer driver and his company, alleging negligence in causing a crash that injured the plaintiff.
Latanya Wright filed a lawsuit Aug. 16 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Jerry Walker of Shreveport and Hunt Style Trucking LLC, alleging Hunt Style carelessly entrusted the vehicle to Walker.
According to the complaint, on Aug. 20, 2014, Wright was stopped in the nortbound outside lane on McCann Road at the intersection with Loop 281 in Longview. The suit says, without warning, Walker turned right, entered Wright's lane and struck her vehicle.
The lawsuit states Wright was injured leading to pain, mental anguish and loss of earning capacity, plus medical care and expenses. The plaintiff alleges Walker failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to timely apply brakes and failed to act and/or respond in a reasonable manner.
Wright seeks trial by jury, compensation for all damages, post-judgment interest, court costs, fees and expenses, plus all further relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by attorneys Brent Goudarzi and Marty Young of Goudarzi & Young LLP in Gilmer.
