Motorist blames driver, transport providers for causing crash

Car accident 28

BEAUMONT — A Shepherd woman motorist is suing a driver and transport providers, alleging negligence in preventing injuries.

Celestina Gomez Garcia filed a lawsuit Aug. 16 in the Beaumont Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Scott R. Cameron and ATS Specialized Inc., alleging ATS failed to properly train and supervise Cameron.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 23, Garcia was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 59 in Liberty County when Cameron, driving an ATS vehicle, struck her vehicle from behind. The suit says the collision caused serious injuries to Garcia that resulted in physical pain, mental anguish, medical problems and lost wages.

The plaintiff alleges Cameron failed to control the speed of his vehicle, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to take proper evasive action to avoid an accident.

Garcia seeks trial by jury, judgment against the defendants, jointly and severally, all damages, pre- and post judgment interest, punitive damages, costs of court and all other relief. She is represented by attorneys Michael E. Pierce and M. Paul Skrabanek of Pierce Skrabanek Bruera PLLC in Houston.
