HOUSTON — An Asian American woman is suing a Houston accounting firm, alleging retaliation and wrongful or constructive eviction.
Hang L. Bower of Houston filed a lawsuit Aug. 31 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against BDO USA LLP alleging violation of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
According to the complaint, Bower was subjected to adverse terms and conditions of employment, discrimination and retaliation, including being stripped of all actual authority to investigate employee complaints and being denied the CCO position. The suit says she was forced to resign Jan. 31, 2014.
The plaintiff alleges BDO USA acted adversely against her and continued its discriminatory and retaliatory conduct throughout the course of her employment from Feb. 26, 2007, until January 2014.
Bower seeks trial by jury, all damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, costs of court, witness fees, expenses and all other relief to which she is justly entitled. She is represented by attorneys Adrian V. Villacorta of The Villacorta Law Firm PC in Houston, and by Benjamin L. Hall III of The Hall Law Firm in Houston.
