Houston risk management firm alleges energy company owes more than $90,000

HOUSTON — A Houston risk management services provider is suing an oil and gas company, alleging it owes more than $90,000.

Mobius Risk Group LLC filed a lawsuit Sept. 1 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Matra Petroleum PLC alleging failure to perform its obligations under a contract.

According to the complaint, in March 2015, Mobius Risk entered into an advisory services agreement with Matra wherein the plaintiff would provide energy risk management services to the defendant for a fixed monthly retainer fee of $6,000. To date, the current balance of $90,000 remains unpaid.

The plaintiff alleges Matra Petroleum has failed to make any payments under the agreement since June 2015.

Mobius Risk Group seeks trial by jury, judgment for actual damages of not less than $210,000, attorney fees and expenses, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of suit and all other relief to to which it is justly entitled. It is represented by attorneys Geoffrey H. Bracken and Vi Tran of Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP in Houston.
