GALVESTON — A Chambers County couple is suing a Dodge Jeep dealer, alleging breach of implied and express warranties.

Ronald Lee Yeatts and Tonya Marie Yeatts filed a lawsuit Sept. 6 in Galveston County District Court against Hamon Bay Area Inc., doing business as Ron Carter Chrysler Jeep Dodge League City and FCA US LLC, alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 7, 2015, Ronald Lee Yeatts and Tonya Marie Yeatts purchased a 2015 Dodge Journey. When delivered, the suit says, the vehicle was defective in materials and workmanship and the defects were discovered within its warranty periods.

The lawsuit states the defects substantially impaired the vehicle's use, value and safety, causing the plaintiffs to suffer significant monetary and consequential damages. The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to repair the vehicle in a workmanlike manner to bring it into conformity with warranties.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks revocation of acceptance and/or refund of the purchase price, plus all incidental and consequential damages, costs, interest and attorney fees, plus pre- and post-judgment interest. They are represented by attorney Adam Hamilton of Lemon Law Group Partners PLC in Dallas.
