HOUSTON – A Houston woman has filed a class-action lawsuit against a property manager over allegations she was not paid overtime wages for extra hours worked.

Alexandra Jade Worsham filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Sept. 7 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against B.G. Property Management LLC alleging that the employer violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she regularly worked in excess of 40 hours a week without receiving proper overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds B.G. Property Management LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to compensate her for her work in excess of 40 hours per week at a rate not less than one-and-one-half times her regular rate and failed to maintain accurate time and pay records.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order allowing this action to proceed as a collective action, award for all unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees and costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and such other relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Kelly E. Cook, Brad T. Wyly and Michael J. Bins of Wyly & Cook PLLC in Houston.
